Born and raised in The Netherlands, I spent most of my life there before moving to Japan a few years ago. During my time in Japan, I had the enriching opportunity to teach Dutch, English, and even Japanese. Recently, I returned home, bringing with me a wealth of cross-cultural teaching experience. My teaching journey has been diverse and rewarding, spanning multiple languages and cultures. It all began over a decade ago at the Pedagogical Academy, where I embarked on the path to becoming an elementary school teacher. During my time studying Japanese at Leiden University, I found joy in teaching Dutch to my foreign friends, blending linguistic passion with cultural exchange. For the past 4.5 years, I've immersed myself in Japan as an English teacher. This role has allowed me to deepen my understanding of language education while embracing cultural diversity. Alongside English, I've also ventured into teaching Japanese, further enriching my experience in language instruction. Navigating these linguistic landscapes has not only honed my teaching skills but also broadened my cultural horizons. It's a journey that continues to inspire me, fostering connections and mutual understanding through the power of language.
